What people can change.

Posted by Isabella Tomasulo on

I feel that what we as a society can change is the regulations for abortion. I feel that our nation needs to find the right procedures and regulations that meet in the middle and is an easy comprise for both sides of the argument which is those who are pro life and pro choice. I feel that if we change the time in the pregnancy that it is still okay for an abortion a lot of problems can be solved because you are allowed to get an abortion all the up to the third trimester and the “fetus” or child is already almost done forming and growing by then and that is what angers a lot of pro life groups. I also feel that we need to be able to have these hard conversations without one side coming for the other because that clearly isn’t working, we need to have a calm cool and collected conversation and meet in the middle and get this problem solved.

How did I get introduced to Abortion?

Posted by Isabella Tomasulo on

I got introduced to this topic when I learned that my friend had an abortion, before that I didn’t even know what it was or what a woman goes through during that process. I believe that we as woman need to be there for each other because this is a very painful procedure not only physically but mentally too, it can take a very big toll on someone and it’s something you carry around for the rest of their life. After my friend told me what happened I went to my older cousin to talk about it and get some insight and I actually learned that she had gotten an abortion too. That was when I learned that a lot of woman go through this everyday and it can be so close to you and your life and you don’t even realize sometimes.

What this blog is all about?

Posted by Isabella Tomasulo on

Hey! Welcome to my blog, this blog is about Abortion. Abortion is a very controversial topic in this country. For those who don’t know what abortion is it is a procedure that a woman can get to terminate a pregnancy. This law was passed in 1973 and that is because of a court case that was proceeding called Roe v Wade. Roe v Wade started when a lady named Norma McCorvey who wanted to be anonymous and came up with the name Jane Roe. McCorvey, who lived in Texas, was 22, unmarried, and looking to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. But she couldn’t: In Texas, it was abortion was a crime unless a woman’s life was at risk. Similar statutes were in place in nearly every other state at the time. So McCorvey, seeking to safely and legally abort her pregnancy, sued Henry Wade, the Dallas County district attorney, in 1970. The case went on to the Supreme Court. This topic is very important because the nation is divided about this law because some people think abortion shouldn’t be allowed at all or that it should be regulated or you have a complete opposite where women think you have a right to an abortion at any point in time.
